SKI RENTAL · PARTNER-SOURCE REVIEW
An unmanned ski rack positioned directly on the slope
The Kläppen example combines online rental, ski adjustment and cold-weather access to remove both transport friction and the traditional rental counter.

Relationship disclosure: Rafael Frankow works with igloohome in a sales-consulting capacity. The source may include igloohome material; this case is not an independent product test or endorsement.
Collecting skis at the slope
A published pilot at Kläppen, Sweden. Current kiosk count, ski inventory and deployment status need confirmation.
Locating rental skis at the slope can remove a shop collection trip. Correct equipment adjustment remains a separate safety-critical part of the offer.
What makes ski rental different
The rack sits where the equipment is used. That can remove the need to transport skis from a shop, but it also adds sub-zero conditions, gloves, snow, seasonal peaks and the need to match each skier with correctly adjusted equipment.
The published flow
A skier scans the selected item, chooses a rental duration, pays and receives a time-bound PIN. RentalBuddy manages the booking and access event; an igloohome Padlock 2 secures the equipment; NoMoreBoots provides the ski-rental concept and adjustment mechanism.
Making it work on site
The source names RentalBuddy, NoMoreBoots and Padlock 2. Snow clearance, mounting, ice, gloves and the adjustment mechanism matter; do not extrapolate a test rating into guaranteed winter uptime.
A scan-to-book flow needs connectivity before a credential is received. Test keypad use with gloves, readable instructions and return handling in poor light.
Costs, upkeep and the takeaway
A short season concentrates demand and maintenance. Model rentals per usable ski set, inspection and adjustment time, weather closures and failed pickups before claiming labour savings.
A successful ski unlock does not prove a safe equipment fit.
